Changes Writing Competition Winners

Thursday 2nd October 2014

We called upon all aspiring writers to pen a poem, a short story or even a song for this years +Culture Shots ’Changes’ creative writing competition.

We are proud to announce the 2014 winners:

1st Place: Lorraine Broadfoot with “Epiphany” Click here to view

2nd Place: Cat Lumb with “The Memorial Tree” Click here to view

3rd Place: Elisha Bradley with “Peninsula” Click here to view

The modern world never remains motionless for very long and it is this dynamism of change, renewal and rebirth that we wanted individuals to harness in their writing. We asked individuals to focus on what change feels like.

Winning entries were announced on the 30th September 2014 and will be performed by professional performers and drama students at CMFT in all atriums across the site and in the newly opened Whitworth Art Gallery.

The Changes creative writing competition was open to all staff from:

  • Central Manchester University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust
  • Trafford General Hospital
  • Stretford Memorial Hospital
  • Altrincham General Hospital
  • Greater Manchester NHS Community Service Providers
  • Whitworth Art Gallery
  • Manchester Museum
  • Other participating cultural organisations and artists
